I am the proud owner of a new 22" monitor. I opted for the cheaper of two monitors with features that I was looking for. The first had a composite (rca) video input, but the second did not and cost $130 less. I was wondering if anyone knew of an inexpensive way to hook up a VCR or digital cable box to the monitor? (I don't have any kind of HD anything, so using the DVI to plug into an HD connection is out of the question)

I suppose the person with the cheapest solution will get "best answer"

You are not very clear about what inputs your monitor DOES have.
So, if your monitor has only VGA and DVI inputs, you can't use anything (since you don't have HDMI or DVI outputs).

You could buy a YCbCr (Component) to VGA converter, but that will cost you about $90.

WHY NOT JUST HOOK UP THE DVD/VHS TO YOUR COMPUTER...THE IMAGE WILL ROUTE TO THE MONITOR.
