The person who is giving you this puppy should not be doing so until it is at least eight weeks old, it is too young to be taken away from it's mother at four to five weeks old.
You will need to check with a reputable pet store or the vets in order to get the correct food and milk replacement product for the pup.
Good luck with your pup and make sure you purchase a couple of books about the care and feeding of Jack Russells.

Yes, give it to me. Jack Russell's are the best, I'm not kidding. Mega super hyper though. Hope his teeth aren't barley, but I'd feed him soft puppy food. You know the canned stuff, till his teeth come in.

she should not be taking this little puppy away from it's mother so young. Not only will it not get the nutrients it needs from the mother still, it will lose out on very valuable socialization skills that it gets from it's mother and siblings during the time between 4 and 8 weeks. There is no reason to remove a puppy so young.

That puppy is to young. It should still be with it's mother. It will need goats milk and a high quality puppy food. Go to a pet food store and get their best. It will need to be tiny pieces or mix it with the goats milk to make it soft for him to be able to eat. The person you are getting this puppy from should be put in jail.

I start my pups at 4 weeks with weaning.
I give them Purina puppy chow moistened with water or goats milk. If mom isn't their to supplement feed tehn feed about every 3-4 hours as they really should stay with mom until 8 weeks old.
do be very careful taking the pup ANYWHERE as tehy will no longer have imunity from teh mother and can't get vaccinated until 6 weeks old. And then you really need to be careful until the pup has all three booster shots. This is especially true with one that is removed from teh mom so early.
Most states and AKC do not allow pupps to be taken from teh mother until 7-8 weeks old.
PLEASE DO BE VERY CAREFUL WITH THIS PUP

I have a jack russell puppy myself, i got her at 2 months though. They were feeding her dry Iams for puppies at the shelter, I mixed it with Innova for puppies until she got used to the innova, it's one of the best foods out there. Try mixing baby food and innova for puppies. Much luck, my little jacky has been wonderful, she requires alot of stimulation but its so worth it.

Yes - don't take him until he is 9 weeks old. I hope other people have given this advice. He is certainly not ready to leave his litter now and you will have your hands full 24/7 with the puppy. Additionally, he will have severe setbacks if he's removed from the litter now.
You need to be sure that you are ready for a Jack. Please read:
