Yes, their website says it's fine "in reasonable quantities". I've been on two Carnival cruises, one for 4 nights, the other for 3 nights. We took two 12 packs of soda on the first cruise and didn't drink half of it. We took one 8 pack on the second cruise and 4 liters of water.
We carried it on in a tote bag with no problem. I called Carnivals toll free number to check if my quantities were "reasonable" and was told it was fine. So, just call them if you are in doubt about the amount you want to take.
On board you'll have all the iced tea, fruit punch, lemonade, coffee, hot chocolate, orange juice, water that you want for free. Also, you can buy sodas cheap at any of the ports and bring them back on as well, so no need to take very much.
Enjoy your cruise!!!

Carnival doesn't mind a reasonable amount of water and soda. But, they are getting more strict with people who load up and bring coolers filled.

On a 4 night cruise, you can buy a soda card onboard for $16.00 which will permit you all the soda you care to drink. The water on the ship is better tasting and probably more pure than the water you drink from the bottle. The ships desalinate and purify their water and this makes for pure, clean and tasty water. Take a coupla bottles with you and refill from their supply. It will be cheaper.

If you go to Carnival's website, you will find info on this - and other matters.

Carnival had a policy preventing passengers from bringing soft drinks and water aboard. That policy has been recently rescinded.

Their current policy is as follows:
Guests are prohibited from bringing alcoholic beverages onboard. However, guests (21 years and older only) may bring one bottle of wine or champagne per person on board only during embarkation at the beginning of the cruise. A $10 corkage fee per bottle will be charged should you wish to consume this wine in the dining room or a $14 corkage fee per bottle in the Supper Club. Guests may bring a small quantity of non-alcoholic beverages.

All alcohol, additional quantities of wine/champagne or excessive quantities of non-alcoholic beverages will be confiscated and discarded without compensation. Guests may purchase a variety of beverages on board the ship. Alcoholic beverages will not be sold or served to anyone under the age of 21. We reserve the right to refuse the sale of alcoholic beverages to anyone. Alcoholic beverages purchased in the ship’s gift shops or in ports of call will be retained by Carnival until the end of the voyage.

Carnival does offer a Fun Fountain Card, where you pay for a card at the beginnning of the cruise and you can use the card for soft drinks during the cruise. The Fun Fountain Card does not apply to Room service drinks or drinks which the crew leaves available in the cabin. The cost of the card varies depending on the length of the cruise.

No problem to do that. I usually take a 12 pack of bottled water on a cruise as well as a 12 pack of Pepsi. They might say something if you try taking several entire cases on board but just be reasonable and there is no problem.

Yes, but just don't bring booze! I would say don't 'check' [give up your bag(s) before boarding so they will deliver them to your cabin] the bag the sodas in, as well. They do scan those. Once I had to go down to 'deck 2' on the Norwegian Dawn or Spirit, (cant remember... maybe it was the Sea...?) Anyway, this security guard made me open up one of the bags I checked and show him the cans inside. He picked up one, examined it, and then said, "you can only bring soda or water, but you are fine, since you don't have any booze." Then I had to carry my bag up 9 stairs, SO, My advice to you is DONT CHECK THE BAG ITS IN b/c they may question it, and it will delay you from getting your bag! I didn't get mine till 10:30 pm!

water and sodas are usually permitted. never had an issue with these.

they do not like anyone bringing on anything because they like to make the money on the water, pop and alcohol.

Have a great time sailing / Bon Voyage !

I take a six pack or bottled water AND a six pack of soft drinks (all in plastic bottles) onto the ship every time I cruise if I can get to a store to get them before we board. I just put them in my carry on bag and it goes through the scanner, just like at the airport. Have had no problem with this.
