Yes, it is true that venus traces a perfect pentagram in the sky every eight years.
It is a result of the mathematic ratio between the Earth's orbit and Venus's and how they intersect.
See the link for a diagram of how it works

Some ceremonial magicians match the pentagram (not the pentacle; they're different) with the planet Mars. But Venus... I'm not sure about that one.
Perhaps Dan Brown means that as Venus moves through the sky, it traces the shape of a pentacle. Kinda like playing connect the dots in a puzzle book!

The pentagram has long been associated with the planet Venus, and the worship of the goddess Venus, or her equivalent. It is also associated with the Roman Lucifer, who was Venus as the Morning Star, the bringer of light and knowledge. It is most likely to have originated from the observations of prehistoric astronomers.[citation needed] When viewed from Earth, successive inferior conjunctions of Venus plot a nearly perfect pentagram shape around the zodiac every eight years.
The pentagram (pentacle or pentalpha) is considered by some western occultists to trace its esoteric significance to an astronomical observance of the pattern of Venus' conjunctions with the Sun. This is not possible.
A superior conjunction occurs when Venus is behind the Sun and the inferior conjunction is when Venus is between Earth and the Sun; in both cases Venus is not visible. But it is true that plotting the recurrence of Venus' westward elongation from the Sun, over five consecutive synodic periods, will create the points of a pentagram. This period is approximately 584 days long, each period determining a different point of the observed pentagram—taking approximately eight years, five days to complete the figure. One would get a pentagram by picking any sunrise date on which the morning star is prominent and then repeating the observation at 584 day intervals following that date.
The synodic period of Venus, the time required for it to return to the same position relative to the Sun as seen by an observer on Earth, is 583.9211 days. There is a 0.0789 day slippage every 584 days, totalling a one day slippage each 12.67 synodic periods. This means that the pentagram figure is slowly revolving within an oval in a clockwise direction, alternating either one or two points ascendant roughly every 160 years. There is no observation point on Earth that would present a regular pentagram. Moving further north elongates the figure while on the equator the figure is an irregular pentagon.

I'm going to say no, since I'm really not sure what you mean - I guess you mean with 4 other planets? 5 years isn't enough time for all the planets to come into some sort of arraingment with the others, and it definitely isn't enough time for a regular arraingment, since most of the planet's orbits are longer than 1 year. Most of the 'science' in the Da Vinci code was way off.

It's complete gibberish. Planetary orbits are elliptical and have neither straight lines nor corners, so they cannot form pentagrams. The ecliptic is a line that crosses our view of the sky at all times, so there is no "ecliptic sky". The orbital period of Venus does not divide evenly into the orbital period of Earth (this is the whole reason the Mayans designed their famous calendar) so there is no way that it can repeat any event perfectly every 8 years.

Cupcake, the DaVinci code a fiction. LOL
It was a symbol for the Goddess, is currently the symbol of some neo-pagans and the five elements and at one time was used as a symbol for the Christian's to represent the 5 wounds of Christ.
It's been around the block a few times.

The basic story is fiction, but there are many things within it that are true. Unfortunately, although a good read, it causes quite a few problems for those who are unfamiliar with what is true and what is not.
Best to study on the pentagram and other ancient religious symbology, its a good place to start.

Dan Brown makes up a lot of garbage. That's why he's a fiction writer. And not a very good one.
