I co-worker is turning 30 and is having a party at her house. She is throwing the party 2 weeks ahead because she will be out of the country on her birthday. My question is...
Do I buy her a gift and bring it to her party? I was thinking maybe a $50 gift card to Target, is that good enough?

Since she will not be available on her actual birthday to present her with a gift, than yes, it is more than appropriate and probably expected that any gift to be given be brought to the party or given early.

Yes, you should go ahead and bring the gift to the party. Parties are rarely celebrated on the actual birthday anyway. Your gift sounds perfectly appropriate too.

Yes, bring it to her party, but $50 is a bit too much. Give $20.

That is perfect. Since she is celebrating her birthday early you should still get her something. I think what you are getting her is just wonderful and Im sure she will be so grateful!! You must be a wonderful co-worker. Have fun!

there is nothing wrong in giving her the gift at her party even if it is 2 weeks early. however, u might prefer to visit her place and give her the gift there. i do it.it is more convenient .
