I need to find a dog that is smaller than a basketball any suggestions?And I looked at all the shelters in Oregon

Papillons ar ereally good small dogs. They ar eone of the smartest breeds of dogs, and, unliek a lto fo small dogs out there, they are usually very quiet and dotn bark. Plus, they are adorable.

Luck for tea cups chihuahuas, mini-pincher's but find out first which breed do you think would be best for you the first ones are great , second ones are a little hyper but also very good, I recommend to check all of the small dogs, but I don't think a shelter would be the ideal place but at the same time if you find maybe a mix small breed on a shelter it will be very rewarding to do it if you'll like to save and animal take your time and good luck.

There are many great small breed dogs. Do you want a short hair or long hair? or does it really matter? Papillons are wonderfull dogs, their small and long hair, with cute big ears. Chihuahua's are a ver popular breed due to their very small size, but they are expensive dogs. Pomeranians is another small breed of dog. If your looking for a certain kind of breed, shelters might not be the best place to look.

If you want a dog that ISN'T high maintenance, I'd go for a Short or Long Haired Chihuahua, if you want something that's a little high maintenance, Pomeranian is your answer. I've always wanted a Pomeranian but I live in a place that gets really hot, Pomeranians have alot of fur so they're better off in a colder area than a hotter area. Chihuahua's are good because they're are two kinds, short haired and long haired like I said, If you live in a cold area get long haired, if u live in a hot area get short haired. Simple!

The smaller the dog the more health problems they have.
You might want to consider a Bologneses which is
small dog with a happy temperament.

A chiuaua whould work and even a teacup yorkshire terrier and a jack russell terrier and a pomeranian!!!

brussels griffon,chihuaha,chinese crested,italian greyhound,japenese chin,maltese,papillion,pekingese,pomeranion,pug,shihtzu,yorkie,all of these r small breeds of dogs.hope this helps.
