Dogma, easily my favorite.

I thought Apocalypto was cool as well.

The Apostle with Robert Duvall comes to mind. Its a great story of redemption and it has this perceptive and loving portrayal of country people in the United States. It is refreshing to see that culture portrayed as something other than gaggles of yahoos.

Sixth Sense (Bruce Willis) and The Others (Nicole Kidman). I honestly believe that that kind of situation happens, I mean the person doesn't know that he/she is dead and continues to live and act as if he/she is still alive. That happens.

House of the Spirits (Meryl Streep), I like this one, although its main message is not exactly spiritual, but Streep's character is a psyquic and it is very interesting. I like the scene when her sister-in-law comes to say good-bye after she was dead... very good!

Peace!

Jacob's Ladder (from director Adrian Lyne, iirc). Plays well on our natural fears, and our needs for hope in a despairing universe. A horror film which is very beautiful (who'd have thought this possible?), full of dark humor.

Dogma is a hoot. "Michael" with John Travolta as a fallen angel in phenomenal as is "Phenomenon" also starring Travolta. Seven Years in Tibet is a hands-down favorite.

I just got "Dogma," but haven't played it yet.

I would say "Brother Sun, Sister Moon," by Franco Zeffirelli. It's about St. Francis and St. Theresa, and the music is by Donovan.
