Jehovah's Witnesses generally avoid secular work which actually or strongly implies a compromise of bible principles regarding morality, cleanness, neutrality, and purity of worship. A true Christian also avoids work which interferes with his worship and family responsibilities.

--WE DO NOT CHOOSE to do the following work because of our belief in Bible principles, such as:
(1 Corinthians 10:23-24) “. . .23 All things are lawful; but not all things are advantageous. All things are lawful; but not all things build up. 24 Let each one keep seeking, not his own [advantage], but that of the other person....
....31 Therefore, whether YOU are eating or drinking or doing anything else, do all things for God’s glory. 32 Keep from becoming causes for stumbling to Jews as well as Greeks and to the congregation of God, 33 even as I am pleasing all people in all things, not seeking my own advantage but that of the many, in order that they might get saved."

1.Any of the armed services as soldiers, or any direct support of the services, that would contribute to warfare.
2. Serve in any political office
3. Work for a blood bank! Abortion clinic
4. Work as a dealer in a gambling casino, or any employment that has a direct link with gambling as our main work!
5. Work in a factory that produces pornographic material or or any sexually explicit material!
6. Work for other churches, directly as our main line of work!
7. Work for a farmer growing tobacco products as the primary crop!
8. Work in a cigar or cigarette shop, exclusively!

There are other types of employment that we individually would make our own choice, but the above are definitely employement that by far , Jehovah's witnesses would not engage in!

Wow! Unsilenced: REALLY???? Your father was an elder, didn't you say before? Yet he saw it as not hypocritical to make missles while belonging to a religion that preaches complete neutrality in political affairs and wars. Did he soothe his conscience by pretending the missles were to be used for something other than warfare? Or is it ok now to make weapons for warfare, just not to go to war and use them. More WT double standards, is what I think. What else is new?
