You should obtain a copy of your criminal record, and take it to the U.S. Embassy in London. Even a U.S. Consulate in another city will help. Bottom line is this--the British terminology for this offense may or may not be equivalent to a U.S. charge which would prevent you from entering the U.S. Immigration law is complicated. If upon review of the record, this appears to be a "crime involving moral turpitude" you may not be able to visit or work in the United States.

Once a satisfactory review of your documentation is done as mentioned above, you MAY qualify for a waiver. The only way to finally find out for sure is to come clean, present your record, and let a consular officer make a determination.

This may not be the answer you are looking for, but you seem like a decent chap and this is how one would pursue this legally and honestly. Good luck, mate.

do you still have a passport? did they take it away after you got in trouble? if you are not on probabtion and you still have a passport i don't see why anyone can stop you from traveling...if you have served your time and are not on a probation or anything.....makes sense to me that way...

I believe that you can travel. get a passport and then get on the plane. i don't think that they normally question people about past offenses ? never heard of that.
