I joined the Army first because I didn't really want to make the decision of what I want to do for my whole life at 17. I really enjoyed the Army and was able to continue preparing for college. If I knew what I wanted to do though, I would recommend going straight into college. You can always quit and go into the Army if it doesn't work out. College should be the goal and if you are ready and know what you want to do, there is no point in going in the Army. I wanted to have some adventure and live in Hawaii so I don't regret my decision. I would probably not do it if I knew then what I know now.

i think you will have the means to have a extra "time-honored" college journey going to OCS course, on account which you will have no duties for the duration of faculty to the army. That being stated, i might advise ROTC for right here motives: a million) ROTC can help pay on your training. OCS won't. 2) OCS is amazingly aggressive. optimistically the economic equipment would be extra advantageous by way of the time you graduate so that isn't any longer as no longer hassle-free to get in, yet once you bypass to college assuming you will bypass to OCS later on, you'll be upset whilst they do no longer enable you in. 3) ROTC does not make *that* a lot of a distinction on your college journey. you will connect golf equipment and companies, bypass to events (notwithstanding you may pick to be extra careful than maximum pupils). the army does not have fighter pilots. yet i might advise going the army course; you haven't any longer any assure of what your job would be yet have a say in it. From what you wrote, that is plenty extra probable which you will get caught with a job you do no longer pick interior the Air rigidity. i'm an officer interior the army and became commissioned by way of OCS. on the top of the day, it does not make a distinction, yet looking returned I truly might have executed ROTC.

This is what I recommend. From one soldier to be to another. Join the Army enlisted and see what it takes to be an enlisted soldier. To be able to understand what the enlisted go threw and do what you would not do as an officer is the best thing you could do for yourself as a soldier.
You will be more respected and get more out of your soldiers.

If you can afford the money for college go to it first. Become an Officer and be in charge of things.
If not then do the army first and save enough money to go to school after.

Either go to college first or go to the Army reserves then go to college and transfer over.
The problem is that if you join the Army and you're deployed somewhere, you're not going to be able to study a whole lot, except for maybe the University of Baghdad.

Yes get your degree first and then make sure you become an officier, That is where the big money is, trust me from experience if I had to do it all over I would have got my degree and then went to the Army. Officiers rule the Army.

I went to college first, and I am so glad I did! Now I'm in the Army, and I can enjoy my life without worrying about trying to do college later.

You could do National Guard for a while, then go active duty. That way you will get a drill weekend and earn a little money while in College, and you can see if you like a certain type of unit if you work at it part time for a while.

I suggest college first it will get you a better job in the army so, if you can afford it, it really helps you out in the service.
