Wouldn't an atheist government be biased towards atheism? A truly unbiased government is a difficult thing to accomplish, I'd say to have the least amount of bias, a government would include all points of view.

Even atheists seek to push their "religion" upon society and legislate their own form of morality. After all, the U.S. Supreme Court officially recognized Secular Humanism as a religion in 1961!
I think the bottom line is that someone's morality inevitably gets legislated in any government that truly governs....the only question is whose?

Staying out of the theism/atheism debate isn't going to make a government unbiased, but it's better than an ascription to an outdated ideology.

I don't think you can ever get an unbiased government, look how many different religions there are and people who swear blind to them, they don't seem to realise that the mere fact that there are so many religions that contridict each other it automatically discredits 99% of them.

No, because even atheists can be biased. I think tolerance and understanding of other religions would help more.

well, what do you mean by 'unbiased'? Doing what they think is right, or doing what really IS right?
