Me and my partner were out on a drive the other day, and he saw a dog he *loved* only problem is...we had no idea what it was. It had a puffy tail and was a smallish, midbrown dog....i'm sorry for the lack of explainatinon.
Anyway, what dogs do you know of that have puffy looking tails? (and otherwise short hair)

There are too many Puffy Tailed breeds.. You should look thru a dog book and maybe you can see the dog.. It might have been a mixed breed dog, and in that case guessing would just be a huge waste of time...
I hope Puffy tail isn't your requirement for buying a dog..

Pomerainans have puffy tails. So do Papillons, and a couple other small breeds. All of these breeds are long haired, but most people trim their hair but leave their tail long.

Hard to tell, since many breeds get ''summer cuts'', where their fur is short, but they leave the tail bushy.
Spitz breeds tend to have bushy tails. Why not go to www.dogbreedinfo.com and look at the dog breeds, to see if you can find what you are thinking of?

Lhasa Apso's have puffy tails that they always flip up over their backs. They aren't short hair though - their hair can grow quite long.
I keep my Lhasa Groomed with a short cut though-
They have an excellent personality.

Pomeranians. With a summer haircut. These pictures, unfortunately, don't show the short haircut, but they are called fox cuts or lion cuts. Most owners get their Poms trimmed in the summer because their coat is so dense.

Pomeranians have fluffy tails, and you can cut their hair short. It looks cuter that way too. Some breed's of Chihuahua's also have fluffy tails.

sounds to me like its a Pomeranian, they are brownish with VERY puffy tails, or it could be a papillon.
