The name "suicide knob" should give it away.

Seems pointless with today's power steering.

By the way you write I'd say your a brit. Here in the states those knobs are illegal for safety reasons in a crash those knobs will punch right through your chest. If however you must have one make one it doesn't take a genius. 1. drill a small hole through your steering wheel. 2. get a knob a piece of wood half a screw driver handle use your imagination. 3. insert screw through the back of steering wheel into your knob viola your very own do it yourself steering knob! PS if your worried about the cops try a pair of small vice grips, they come off easily if you get stopped and will do the job.

It is illegal and un-necessary. Modern 18 wheelers have really good power steering. The steering wheel can be turned with one finger or the palm of yor hand.

They are illegal as per the Federal motor carrier regulations unless the driver is handicapped and it used to aide the driver with holding the steering wheel.

there supposed to be against the law anymore, but people still use them, and i never hear of anyone getting tickets from it,but technically they was said to be out law-ed,if i had one id use it,the worst thing that can happen is you get a ticket,i still see them on trucks around where i live at,and no one has got a ticket yet for them, good luck with it.
