My Dad has it and it's driving him nuts!!! It's on both of his legs around the ankle/shin area. Cures would be wonderful but, stopping the itch remedies are also very welcome. Thanks!!!

take acouple of Ibuprofen , It won't stop the itch but it will help some , Poison Ivy will run it's course in two weeks ,

try starting out with some benadryill- (cream or pill) if that doesn't work - Very hot water will kill (I mean friggen hot) the histamines ( the part of you immune system that's mad)enough for a short time- then it will come back, but if he wants better relief- the doc can Rx some predizone- it's crappy steroid, but it works. (It will make him irrate as h ell.) but what ever, I know it sucks, but just make sure that everything that got the oils of that dastardly plant has been washed- bed sheets, everything. The reason that oatmeal works is that is will "suck" the posion out the wounds-help dry it up. that is a very painstaking process- and messy too.
