I have ordered my new car, it comes with the bluetooth kit, which I think is more for connecting my mobile phone. Is there anyway I can connect my MP3 player via Bluetooth? Or what would you recommend?
Cheers

So the radio did not have a phone jack in front? and it was also not bluetooth? Steering wheel phone controls are nice Eneb the most inexpensive Nissan Versa has both MP-3 Player and Bluetooth. I am in the same boat my 2006 GTO I can have either hands free phone or MP-3 player so I can hook up My Zune.

If you have an mp3 player that is bluetooth enabled then the simple answer is "yes", the bluetooth kit in your car will pick it up. If you don't know whether your mp3 player has bluetooth, then check the box, or the manual, or the manufacturer's website, or just google the model name/code.

Also the mp3 player might be able to handle calls to the phone that you have connected via bluetooth in your car. Again though, (obviously), this will only happen if the manufacturer says that it's a feature.

The majority of bluetooth devices currently only operate in mono so if you did have a bluetooth mp3 player (such as an ericsson music phone) it will work but won't sound very good. The next generation of bluetooth is called A2DB or something like that and it will work in stereo.
The answer will be to pair your device to the car and try it.
If you let me know what car it is I can let you know of other options for mp3 playback

it is not that simple you need to find out who makes the bluetooth in your vehicle or you need all the specs

you need to look for the profiles on the mp3 and the vehicle
you need two profiles
Advanced Audio Distribution Profile (A2DP)
and one more that i don't remember the name but i believe is called
PUSH AUDIO
read this you will understand it a lot more and will help you
