I had my industrial pierced for about a 2 weeks, when my grandpa gave me a hug and his arm accidently hit it really hard,it started bleeding pretty bad. I heard that rough activity leads to bumps on it. I hit it again about 2 weeks after that, and the bumps got worse. A couple days ago I woke up and there was a really big blood blister type bump. Everything else is fine, the puss is watery and yellow like I read it should be. I dont see any signs of infection, but I always can't find anything about the bumps. I've been putting tea tree oil on it to try and help it,but I havent seen any changes in it. It hasnt gotten any bigger or smaller. Are these red bumps an infection or just because rough activity? And will they go away with me cleaning it with salt water and putting the tea tree oil on it? Do you recommend anything else? Thanks :)

The piercing is about a month old,
and the big bumps are about two weeks old.

Infected Industrial Piercing

O dear, you have to be so careful with healing industrials... I know, i have had mine for... Man, like 3 or 4 years now... And you are right, rough activity leads to bleeding and yes, the dreaded Keloid scars... This is just my opinion because my peicer had a few clents that did this with fantastic results, but remember, all bodies heal differently!!! Use emu oil. You can get it at any heath food/organic store. It is a yellowish oil that works wonders for alot of ailments! Just put the oil on a few times a day, not much, just enough with a cotton swab. I know poeple that swear it takes away keloids, but you have to keep up with it!!!! You cant just stop and expect it to go away on its own, cuz it wont. You can also find it online at amazon or ebay. Pretty much anywhere online actually. Hope this helps.

I had something that looked real similar to your bumps. Mine happened after i had a piercer make a custom barbell for me and he did it poorly and i practically had to rip it outta my ear to get it out. It was a fluid and blood filled bump next to my piercing. I learned it was a follicular cyst from this website:
http://www.gothamworld.com/whatisthisbump.html

what i did was took my piercing out and used a q-tip to gently push to fluid out and wipe it up. I did this every day for maybe 3 days. After a week it was gone. I was so worried it wouldn't go away since it kept coming back. its been about a month now and it hasn't come back yet.
If you're not comfortable taking your piercing out, sea salt soaks will be a big help. You should be doing them once or twice a day anyway (my recommendation at least). Take a cup of hot water and a tablespoon of sea salt and hold it up to your ear for 10-15 min. What this does it pull out bacteria since they like warm salty places. It also brings blood to your ear to help it heal. Afterwords make sure you rince out your ear to get all the salt off and wipe off the piercing. Any other questions feel free to email me!

I had the same thing happen to mine. Pop them (with a clean needle) and drain them. Be sure to clean them with sea salt 2-3 times a day and stop using the tea tree oil after the infection is gone....you said they are only 2weeks old? Then they are still healing and the tea tree oil impedes the healing process. :)

i got a blood blister on mine and it was huge it looked nasty my bf told me i had to pop it so it would release pressure and i did with a needle and within a week it was gone. i squeezed it so it would drain all the puss and blood out. i know i got it from a slight infection and also i have hit it a couple of times. i cleaned it every day with dial soap so that helped. you should be fine but if it starts getting worse see the doctor or go to the place you got it done to see if its healing alright.

I had the same thing happen and I had my piercer take a look at it. It's no big deal and will go away if you rinse it with the salt water solution. Don't put anything else on it. Don't worry if it goes away and happens again. Just do the salt water again.

just keep on putting the saline solution on it couple times a day, if you are really worried it is not healing properly go back and ask the person who pierced it what they think

same happened to mines too due pretty much to the same thing lol, i just popped it like someone above me said and made sure i cleaned it properly.

i'd be carefull with the tea tree though, it can be an irritant if it is too strong.
