Where can I buy heirloom tomatoes near Monterey, CA?

I'm looking for some heirloom tomatoes
i found a really good sounding recipe
but i can't find where to buy some.

Farmers markets are about the only place. Heirlooms do not ship or store as well as commercial varieties. Be aware that there are many heirlooms with different flavors. My favorite is Cherokee Purple.

I have seen trader Joes selling heirloom tomatoes and also whole foods. You usually find them in organic stores or farmers markets.
