Q&A: Puppies Losing Teeth
Q: My miniature Schnauzer is 6 months old. I have found three of her teeth in the past week. Is it normal for puppies to lose teeth? If so, how long will this go on?
A: Yes, just like human children, puppies lose their first or milk teeth to be replaced by their permanent teeth and the addition of molars for chewing. While this loss of puppy teeth and arrival of adult teeth usually starts around four months and finishes around six months, the timing varies by breed and individual dog. So what is happening to your dog is normal and necessary. See the Puppies tip category for more information.

It's perfectly normal for a puppy to lose teeth when it's little. It's just like a human and the teeth wil grow back. When my dog was little, we used to find her teeth all over the house! Now she's 5 years old and has all of her teeth. Some of her baby teeth she didn't evn lose, so now she has two rows of teeth on the bottom! But that's fine too. Good luck with your puppy!

What everyone has said is correct. All I can say is have plenty of chewy things for your pup. Dogs love to have things to chew even when they are grown up. A nice big bone is great and lasts for ever. My dog has one that is months old and still loves it. A rawhide chewy bone is also ideal. It is edible. If they haven't got good stuff to chew, they'll go for sticks and plastic objects.
And.... having a good bone to chew helps with the cleaning of the teeth.

All puppies lose their baby teeth for adult teeth, usually around 4-8 months. It's normal, and they'll grow back. You can usually tell just by looking at his teeth if they're baby or adult, baby teeth are tiny and pointy, adult teeth are larger, thicker, and duller.
