I was asked to watch a friend's Great Dane while they went out of town. So, I went over to their house four times a day for a week. Well, during this time, the dog was in heat and I didn't know!!! This was about a month ago.The problem is, I took my Shih Tzu male with me, so the Great Dane would have a playmate! I think my Shih Tzu got his dog pregnant!
He insists that he didn't let his dog around any other dog. So now what do I do? Can my Shih Tzu get his Great Dane pregnant? What would you call the puppies?

I won't fix my boy! I plan to use him as a stud! He is only 9 months old right now, but he he really cute and sweet.

Don't worry, everybody knows that it isn't your fault if a dog gets knocked up.

Just sell the puppies outta the back of your truck at a flea market and call it good!

This is quite the little pickle you have gotten yourself into..
First off.. They should be Sh*t Danes Anything else would sound ridiculous.
What you have to do is tell the truth.. You can get 1/2 the litter as stud fee and sell those little uglies for a fortune.
Don't worry about vaccinations or worming.. That's just a waste of time.. You can put them on the market at 4 weeks of age. They are cuter and you'll get far more money for them!

I think you should tell him what happen and let him know how angry you are that he tried to get a free litter out of your dog, also, tell him how rich the two of you can become. Do not forget to insist that you get at least half the litter after all, it was your dog that did all the work, I can just picture the poor guy hanging in the air from her rear, until they unlocked. Don't forget your dogs are champions so he should not be getting the better end of the deal.
You could call them Danestzus, pronounced Dane shoes or just do not tell anyone they are mixed and call them Teacup Great Danes

Well you should know by now that Shih Tzu's are very cleaver dogs.
He probably got his little ladder out, (stashed away for special occasions), and just climbed right up to the Danes level and went to town! Climbed back down (put the ladder away) smoked a cig. and promised to call in the morning!
Ya that's very possible!
Naw, just put up a cardboard sign in Wal Mert parking lot and sell the little wonders right from the trunk of the car or of the back of a pick up! Dont forget your umbrella too. You'll need shade!

That's okay....it's hard to tell when a female is in heat. I'm sure your friend won't mind...she can probably sell the dogs for a lot of money....I hear you can get up to $1200 for something like this...they call them "designer dogs" and people love 'em! Hey put my on the waiting list for a pup. They sound like they will be so cute!

If you couldn't tell the Dane was in heat, you have no business owning a dog or even dog sitting. Start taking some responsibility and get your dog neutered.

If you don't plan on showing your dog, and more so WINNING those shows, you need to get your dog fixed (and the owner of the Dane should get her fixed also). It would be irresponsible to breed your dog just because "he is so sweet and cute". If you insist on putting him to stud anyway, make sure you get his hips and eyes certified before hand so he doesn't pass genetic defects to the puppies.
BTW, yes it is possible. I have met some Great Dane/ Basset Hound puppies before. GD was the mom.

Make sure you charge your friend a hefty stud fee, just think of all the money they're going to make selling these designer puppies!

I would call them ShihtDanes. But that's just so I could use a swear word without getting in trouble. ;)
By the way, I heard today that if you cover yourself in garlic paste, naked, and do the potty training chant while waving a newspaper in the air and simultaneously wearing a shock collar, you can easily potty train all puppies.
