I have a Husky/G. Shephard mix and at 4 months old he's definitely attached to me. He follows me everywhere I go all day long...just like my 4 yr old son does... LOL Anyways, I did some research on both breeds and the German Shephard for sure is one to become attached to one person and be quite protective of them.

English Springer Spaniels are a one person dog. They will do things with other family members but once you come through that door or are home the rest don't exist. My dad's Springer is like that. He will come and do things with me and the Beagle but if dad is around then I am nothing to him. They are also very affectionate, loving and smart dogs.

Big- Siberian huskies, they're very loyal, smart, extremely affectionate, cute and really have one person they turn their attention to- only down side/they malt badly twice a yr.
little- Miniature foxies, they are really loyal- treat you like your their best friend, obeying and easy to train, short coat an very cute aswell. My boyfriend has one and when we first met i had a streak of jealousy just how close his little one was to him and no matter how sweet I have been to her (4 yrs later) she will always pick him over me and follow his lead- But i am a husky person, they have a great temperament!

chihuahua.
As far as others who say they are possessive that's usually the owners fault for not socializing them and ovr spoiling them by not letting people touch their precious babes making the little chihuahua believe people are bad and need to be dealt with.
I have been breedeng for 30 + years and none of mine personally have ever gotten to be like that.
But again this is with any breed they MUST be socialized to be good dogs.

German Shepards, Dobermans, Rottweilers....actually most the Working breeds.
However, my experience is any breed will attach itself to one person in the family. They like and enjoy everyone else, but prefer that one person. Usually the person who feeds them, trains them, walks them.

Chows get attached to people. When I lived with my parents we raised Chows. They will pick one person and protect them. They aren't violent dogs, my dad's Chow loves kids as a matter of fact.

Mini schnauzers get VERY attached to people, (pepper stays outside my door, follows me around, and he has a safe spot for when i'm gone,) you may need this advice if you get ANY dog that gets attached to people get a safe spot, ya know, a spot with a pillow, blanket, and YOU sleep with it at night, that way that way when you leave he can go to his safe spot and have your scent.
