I'm planning to have my birthday there in Honolulu next year on January. Is it still warm there? Will the water still be warm?

The weather in January is finicky at best. It's equally possible for you to have great weather or windy/rainy. Since January is still our "winter", it's impossible to predict what the weather will be like on any particular day.

As for the water, the water will always be around 83 degrees no matter what the outside temperature is like.

Good luck and happy early birthday!

January is a good time to visit. It is still in the 80's here. Yes it rains more here during that time but the Leeward side of the island is a good bet to beat the rain. There are some beautiful beaches on the leeward side and minimal crowds.

The water is always warm here. Plus January is prime whale watching time and for huge waves out the north shore.

It appears the temperature in January runs between highs in the upper 80s to lows in the 50s - probably cold for the residents, but just right for visitors. It does appear that the period is part of the rainy season, so consider that.

IT rains. Google a site where the monthly temps and rainfall for Hawaii are shown. There are many such sites I think even weather.com
