Drop it in boiling water for 20-30 seconds then plunge it into cold water. Score the skin lightly with a knife, and then the skin should peel straight off, with a little attention to the stem end.

This is the easiest way to remove tomato skins especially when you have a lot of them. The technique is what is known as "blanching". Basically, you take a pot of boiling water. Slowly and carefully lower the tomato(oes) into the hot water. Don't drop them in or you can get burned. Let them sit in the boiling water for at least a minute.
Then, with a large slotted spoon, you lift the tomato out of the boiling water. Set the tomato in a large dish of ice water. Let them sit in it for a minute or so to stop the cooking process immediately. After that the skin should peel right off.

I cut a little cross in the skin at the top of the tomato and drop it into a pot of simmering water for a few seconds. The edges will lift a little. Scoop it out and drop it into iced water to stop the tomato cooking then you should be able to peel it with your fingers. Each flap will peel back. If you are going to be crushing the tomatoes anyway then you can just squeeze it and the inside will pop out. This method is great for tomato based sauces.

Tomatoes are dead easy to skin.
Boil a kettle of water, place tomatoes in a deep dish and then pour the hot water over the tomatoes and leave them to stand for 30-40seconds.
Pour the water off, score each tomatoe with a sharp knife and peel skin away.

Bring water to boil in a pan then add a few tomatoes..wait for about 15 seconds then remove one with a pair of thongs and where you see the spit in the skin....let it cook then then take your small knife and score off the skin!!!! You can let the tomato cool in cold water before peeling!

plunge tomato in large pot of boiling water. After 30 seconds, remove and plunge in a bowl of ice water. After about 30 seconds, take it out and the skin literally falls off.
