I have a brand new samsung HD tv. I have component cables which are connected to the tv. I recently bought a Psyclone digital audio optical cable for the xbox 360 because i saw that in back of my tv there is a port for those cables. When i connected it to my t.v no sound came out and i was foced to put back the red and yellow audio cables. I dont know a single thing about Hd tv's. i bought the cables because they will improve my sound in my games. what should i do?

It always helps to READ the manuals, especially if you don't know anything. There is a lot of good info in most of them.

TVs have digital audio OUTPUT only, so you can connect it to an AV Receiver.
If you really want big sound, connect the xbox to an AV receiver or the AUX input of a home theater (if available).
For best video, use component cables (R/g/b) or HDMI.
