As long as the Auto Manufacturers Produce rear wheel drive cars for the public, Nascar will stay with rear wheel drive Stock cars. I believe the Chevy Impalas & Monte Carlos are the only rear wheel drive cars made, That are in use by nascar and the general public I think The Toyota Camrys-Ford Fusions and Dodges are all front wheel drive that are sold to the general public

Not going to happen. Regarding Ed.P's reply. The production Monte Carlos and Impalas are front wheel drive. The only RWD Chevy's the Corvette. The only RWD production model of a NASCAR car is the Dodge Charger.

Not as long as it stays an exhibition sport. I thought the point of racing was for research and development. To find out what works and what doesn't work. Everyone in Nascar basically races the exact same car. They just change the stickers on the cars. The engines all need to be the same size, the same size carburetors, same tires for everyone, same body style and the same fuel. And to make it more boring, they only turn left!

Never...with the amount of power stock car race engines have, there would be entirely too much torque steer (power at the wheels actually causing the car to turn) if they were front-wheel drive.
