I always claimed myself - reduces your refund or maybe you even have to pay a little, depending on your level of itemized deductions/credits if any, but better than loaning the IRS money interest free all yr.

At around $30K a year, the difference would be a little over $500 per year, or about $20 in each biweekly paycneck, And you do realize that's not extra money - you either get in it your check, or get it in a refund or else owe less at the end of the year - the total money is the same either way.
