Smartest thing Gibbs could ever do. Think about it.
1. Unlike at Chevy, they will be top dog, instead of vying for support with 3 big teams in DEI, RCR, and Hendrick.
2. Remember Pontiac. We all know that Pontiac was the redheaded stepchild of GM, but Gibbs drivers won 2 of their 3 championships driving a Pontiac (Labonte in 2000, Stewart in 2002), so just because they are driving for a so-called redheaded stepchild manufactuer, or a precieved poor manufacuter, they wont do well, they will do well.
3. Toyota will have a full year of racing under their belt. By next year, Toyota will know how cars react on the track, and have a lot more info now. Look at Dodge in its first 2 years back in NASCAR.

When Joe Gibbs Racing cancled their contract with Hall Of Fame racing to supply engines a few weeks back, the writing was on the wall. Toyoya was trying to get a big team, always thought it would be Penske. And since I'm not a Gibbs fan, I don't care what they drive.

I am upset! Look at all the success JGR has had in Chevrolets! If they switch to Toyota, they are going to have a rough season or two!! Tony and Denny has had a lot of success in Chevys, so I don't think they'll be as strong as they have this year if they switch to Toyotas! :(

As I said in a previous post. Next March I want a JGR Toyota Flag for my Tacoma.
I'm a Toyata fan, and welcome JGR to Toyota. And Tony is under contract to 2009 with an extension if he wants to 2011. He is not moving teams.

JGR is holding a press conference next Wed at 11am eastern time. That's when the expected 'official' announcement will come. Doesn't bother me a bit. And Tony is currently working on a contract extension with JGR.
