I came across a question on answers that was closed(see below) but it got me thinking. I've heard everything from 'it's adorable' to how we've 'crucified' the english language lol(english guy). I'm just wondering how you feel about our useage, slang etc and about the 'Jodie Foster' type accent b/c it's me all over lol....be gentle...

I like Americans and your accents sound lovely.
I don't know exactly what the Jodie Foster type accent is, but I think i'd lean much more towards the adorable side than the crucified. ~dance~ I love youe beautiful eye avatar too. x

There is a subtle fallacy in this question. It is the assumption that in the centuries that British America and then the USA has been in existence, which is what it took for American English to evolve, British English has remained unchanged. This is complete untrue. BE has also changed, and we can equally ask how should we feel about what the Brits have done to the language in the same period of time!!

Thanks to the US, English has become the international languages, which suits us lazy Brits !

And Jodie Foster is cute.
