or shown the dawn its place,
13 that it might take the earth by the edges
and shake the wicked out of it?
Job 38:12-13 NIV
12"Have you ever in your life commanded the morning,
And caused the dawn to know its place,
13That it might take hold of the ends of the earth,
And the wicked be shaken out of it? "
Job 38:12-13 NASB
12Hast thou commanded the morning since thy days; and caused the dayspring to know his place;
13That it might take hold of the ends of the earth, that the wicked might be shaken out of it?
Job 38:12-13 KJV
12 “Have you commanded the morning since your days began,
And caused the dawn to know its place,
13 That it might take hold of the ends of the earth,
And the wicked be shaken out of it?
Job 38:12-13 NKJV
12Hast thou commanded morning since thy days? Causest thou the dawn to know its place?
13To take hold on the skirts of the earth, And the wicked are shaken out of it,
Youngs Literal Translation, Job 38:12-13
Sorry, I don't see it.
But how about this:
"He stretches out the north over empty space
And hangs the earth on nothing. "
Job 26:7
Written quite possibly over 3500 years ago, before any scientific knowledge of the nature of the earth as a globe suspended in space existed.
How would you explain that?

1) The Scriptures are not science texts...they have one purpose...to popint the way to Jesus Christ.
2) It's obviously poetic language.
3) Job 26:7 clearly explains that the earth is suspended in space, the obvious comparison being with the spherical sun and moon.
4) A literal translation of Job 26:10 is "He described a circle upon the face of the waters, until the day and night come to an end." A spherical earth is also described in Isaiah 40:21-22 - "the circle of the earth."
But again...it's not supposed to be a book on astronomy.

Job 38:12 and 13 says:
12 "Have you ever given orders to the morning,
or shown the dawn its place,
13 that it might take the earth by the edges
and shake the wicked out of it?
Isaiah 40:22 says
22 He sits enthroned above the circle of the earth,
and its people are like grasshoppers.
He stretches out the heavens like a canopy,
and spreads them out like a tent to live in.
The edge of a circle is called its circumference.
Another, "Why . . " question, where the premise of the question is false.

The same reason that Romans 1:8 says the whole world is talking of the faith of the Roman Church, when they didn't know that The Americas, Australia, etc... even existed.
