I have been diagnosed with tonsillitis. I have been spitting up bits of blood almost every morning since march. I been to two doctors. A normal doctor and a specialist and still I have no relief of this pain.
Clearly the antibiotics is not working, I've taken so many that am tired taking them. Nuffing is working.
My throat feel swollen and my ears feel full.
The other day I got this pain in my throat that went from my throat to my head. Both head and throat was hurting at the same time. It lasted for a few minutes. During this time I could not talk.
I don't know what to do because no medication is working. I can't even gargle neither.
I will like someone to tell me what is the worse that can happen or if will get better on its own?
Hopefully a doctor can answer too

Tonsillitis means inflammation of your tonsils-It can be viral or bacterial.

Anti biotics will only act on bacteria and not viruses.

Any evidence of a fungus infection

Any possibility of a STD(oral sex)

How old are you ?
What investigations have been done?
throat swab?
Do you have any lymphadenopathy/or enlarged spleen
Full blood count-check for anaemia or any other blood condition
paul bunnell-for glandular fever.
blood sugar

just a few thoughts

I am sure that your doctor would have considered and excluded these

Any chronic nasal catarrh -post nasal drip

I had tonsilitis every six months for about 6 years until I finally had them removed at 14. It's a horrible operation but worth it not to have to put up with tonsilitis any more. However, they can grow back and I had another bout when I was 18, turned out it wasn't tonsilitis though, it was glandular fever, which is often mistaken for tonsilitis. My sister had gl for 6 months.
Get a second opinion, and a third and a fourth if necessary, there's a lot of other things it could be that masquerade as tonsilitis. I've never heard of tonsilitis lasting 5 months.

i'm no doc but i think it's time to have them removed. has anyone mentioned that yet? that's the worst that could happen but it's not a huge deal. your throat won't hurt any more than it does now.
best of luck. i hope you feel better real soon.

Yes u should have your tonsils removed as soon as possible. If they are causing you this much trouble u should not wait. U shoud not have to feel this sick.

If you drink alcohol every day, that could be causing the problem, even if it didn't bother you before.
