I know that you are not supposed to use the same candles over for different spells, but what about illuminator candles? I don't want to have to go buy new candles if I am not using them in the spell, just for light.

My other question is about the dieties. I know you aren't supposed to mix dieties.. But what if I do different spells in the same circle/ritual. Can I use different pantheons then?

I reuse my illuminator candles until they run out. So far so good!

Hmm.... the deities question is a good one. If it were me, I wouldn't mix pantheons while I was in the same circle/ritual. I'd wait for another one or another day. Do you really need more than one spell at once? I PERSONALLY think you'd be better off focusing your energies on one spell at once. Since the spellwork is a special and wonderous experience why make it share with another one? :)

Just my humble opinion. If you do give it a try please let me know how it works for you.

Blessed be!

I don't know who says you "can't" reuse candles or incorporate more than one deity (and it's "d-e-i-t-y"; "diety" sounds like a low-carb meal).

When a book tells you you "can't" do this or that, it's usually just because the esotericism of following the rule is what psychologically (or metaphysically, if you choose to view it that way) lends to the enchanced feeling of a ritual. That can still certainly help in some cases. I do enjoy "doing things by the book" in that sense. You just have to decide for yourself where you draw the line between practicality and esotericism.

Anyway, most altars I've seen have had any number of candles for the purpose of illumination, and then additionally (if they were into color/candle spellwork) the specific colored candle for the central ritual.

Who said you aren't supposed to mix deities?

A lot of gods are actually pretty much the same god with different names in other pantheons. This is especially true in Greek and Roman pantheons of course.

But Hermes, Thoth, and Enki all share many characteristics and could probably be viewed as pretty much the same god. I can't see any reason that you couldn't use the name of your choice with them.

You can do whatever works for you. The calling of the magic comes from inside you, and things like candles and deities are merely symbols to help you tap it.

There are no rules but what you make.

Don't get too caught up in doing everything according to "rules". The most important thing is feeling comfortable and focusing on the mental and spiritual aspects of the ritual.

the beauty of the craft- it's up to you. it's an individual thing. as long as the intent is there, the magick will manifest itself- with or without the d*mned candle. :)

You need to imagine yourself Rich and claim it. That way you won't have these petty problems with money.

your implements and incantations are symbolic. all that's important is that they carry meaning for you, and as such allow you to focus your Will properly.
