Jesus was conceived in the womb of Mary in the sixth month of the ancient Jewish calendar according to the gospel of Luke, which was August/September. Add nine months for pregnancy and Jesus would be born in April/May.
Compare that with the birth of Christopher Columbus, which ranges from 1420-1460.

There is no actual record of the precise date. If there was some way to get the census that they had to go for, then there would be a very close date, but sometime during the middle of the year, as the shepherds wouldn't be out tending their flocks otherwise.

I think that Jesus was born in or towards the fall.
If it was 3 AD, then he was born in September Saturday, 15.

If he was born in 4 AD, then he was born September 4, a Thursday.
Some would go as far back as 4 BC, but I could not get a calendar for that year.

6th April 4 BC.
This is all worked out based on things like Shepherds being in the fields, and when Herod died, etc. (http://www.mormonfortress.com/april6b.html)

No, and trust me, if it was important it would have been revealed to us in the bible.
Passover is celebrated as a remembrance of the last passover lamb to be sacrificed for the sins of the elect.
You'd do better to celebrate the Resurrection of the Son of God, who brought life to those who are joined with Him in a rebirth in Spirit. New life to dead men, who were only His enemies.
How great a gift. How ignored it is when one only seeks to find what 'sign' Christ was born under.
Sad indeed.

no not really we can get close and the fact that we celebrate a day for his birth and his resurection is enough just like Sunday as long as we set aside a sabbath
