The Nissan Murano will handle better but the Ford Edge has the softer ride quality you may like.
It really depends on what you're looking for. If you want a more sporty feel with better handling go for the Murano. If a quiet and smooth ride is what you're looking for then go with the Ford.
I would actually like to throw a monkey wrench in and tell you to look at the Mazda CX-7. The ratings are better than the Ford and the Nissan and it's better equipped for the price you're paying.

And if you want the newest offering Nissan will Have the Rogue smaller cross over sport utility next month. And I think you will really like the Murano's smaller sister!

Nissan is the real deal. It will out do anything the ford has to offer.
