i play field hockey and our season has recently started. WE have had three games, three days in a row and after the third i started experiencing horrible lower back pain. Is there any way to relieve this or stretch my back, or is it a more serious problem?

when you play field hockey you really shouldn't be bending your back. you should keep low by bending your knees instead. yeah i know it's hard to play with bent knees but it might help your back.

Sounds like you just stressed out your muscles. Try applying some heat to the area and take some ibuprophen for the muscle inflamation. Relax and leave the heat on for about 15-20 minutes. If that doesn't work you can alternate cold (ice pack) and heat for about 15 minutes each.
If you're still in pain in the morning you should tell your doctor.
Only your doctor can tell if it's more serious than overexerted muscles. Good Luck!
