Ok. Looking for my next move. Hoping to emigrate but where too? I am considering Canada, Australia or New Zealand. Which would you suggest is best in terms of Cost of living, Cost of Housing, Salaries (I'm a secondary Physics teacher) and ease of moving there. I have researched all countries and am struggling to decide so give me a hand. Oh I will be travelling with my girlfriend (soon to be married) and have 2 cats. Just incase this throws a spanner in the works.

Cheers in advance for the advice.

Well I would say you have two good choices the first being USA and the second is Brisbane Australia, which is a super place. Lovely cities. beautiful beaches, and lovely people. Went there last year, and I did not want to come back here. I spend a lot of time in the States on Long Island which is also very lovely, and I like the Americans as well, as they are great people . You have the World to choose from so I hope I have given you a good start... and I hope you get to wherever and enjoy it.

This seems like an awfully huge undertaking to relegate to YA.

In that case I would lean more towards Australia. I don't have much info to share, but I visited there once a very long time ago and loved it. Very friendly people, beautiful country. I have always said if I had to choose another place to live it would be Australia.

I also visited New Zealand, all I can remember is it is very green and mountainous. A sportmans paradise

I wouldn't recommend Oz or New zealand. Canada may be a good idea. As a secondary physics teacher australia might not be the place to you. Be like trying to teach astro physics to monkeys. The aussies dont care to much for academics! and the kiwis are something similar. Its a shame all brits feel the need to flood to the old colonial lands. Britain aint going to be very British in a few years.

Go to Mauritius (it's a tiny island in the Indian Ocean in case you don't know)
Contact The Bocage College, which is a Private English high school, situated in the mountains in the centre of the island, and most of the studentls are white.
Cost of living in mauritius is very cheap, you will probably be paid in £s. £1=Rs60!!!! Teacher's wages are very good, and Mauritius is a nice country to live. Crime rate is low, and if you earn good money, you can easily live a very happy life.

Good Luck

I have never been anywhere except the US so I am probably not the best person to answer your question... but I would say Australia.. from what I have researched about them.. they seem to be great economically, environmentally, politically... not to say they are better than any other country... but they seem like a great Country- good luck in whatever you decide

well I'm a true Brit ...born and bread .....but i have lived in South Africa for many years ( still have a House in Cape Town )..... and it is ( in my view ) THE BEST PLACE.... Great food ....top weather ...and the beaches are very good .... plus Rand to £pound is always very good ...Houses are also cheep and most come with a swimming pool ..as your a teacher you could try "Rhodeens" there one of the most famous schools in the world ( my children go there )
Down side ..... It can be violent , Gun crime is quite high and most Brits i know are armed ( as i am when i visit ).....ALL homes have high walls with Electric fences on top , Also most have Private Security guards ( very cheep R500 pw ) my guards are from a company called "Chubb" most are ex Army or SAPD and they WILL shoot on site anyone in your property ....Please dont let this put you off ... Go for a Holiday there see for your self ...
Hope this helps
Good luck
