It being Labor Day weekend AND the start of snook season, just wondering if anyone knows any less-frequented areas around the inlet or Sebastian River so we don't have to put up with people's crap. (And I'm sure everyone knows what I'm talking about...) So if you know a bit about the area and can suggest somewhere that doesn't need a boat (two people don't work in a one person 'yak, after all.) we'd be greatly appreciative.

Have a great weekend everyone, I know I will.

The big question there is if we can even find somewhere that rents boats/canoes/yaks, will there be any available. I've got a few ideas from some of the guys who come into my work that I'm gonna give a try, but if it comes down to making a drive to find somewhere quiet, I know where there's 27 miles of undeveloped shoreline, and if I can't find some peace and quiet there, there's no way I'm finding any up near or past daytona. The inlet's gonna be a madhouse and that's a given, but google earth shows me some nice places that should be wadeable if all else fails.

I have only been to Sebastian a handful of times, (surfing no less), so I couldn't give a definite location. BUT, If I was you, I would borrow or rent a canoe/boat, hit a small ICW/St. Johns creek, and bypass the inlet altogether. Labor-Day weekend at the inlet is gonna be a MESS! Tourists, fishermen, surfers, swimmers, familys of 8, all looking to get their vacation "ON"!

YUCK!

You could take a drive up A1A until you get to a "non-packed" beach and relax there. The only problem with this scenario; you MAY have to drive past Daytona,(Palm Coast area), before you find a pristine, quiet, inlet or beach!
Thats a "fair hike" from Sebastian!

Don't ya hate it when long weekends turn your sleepy fishing spot into the State Fair??!!!!!

Good luck Gimme! Hope you find some peace?!
