Well, hello, Monte Carlo was in production long before Lumina. I know because my brother had both. Monte Carlo, later a Lumina. My answer Malibu.,,Did a little more research, it was in competition with the Pontiac Grand Prix, which I already knew but was advertised as a luxury Chevelle. My original answer was not so far off. Oh and by the way, all of you Lumina people, the Lumina kind of replaced the original Monte (1970-88), then Monte came back in 1995 to replace the Lumina. So you were half right, my apologies to you.
