Don't put WATER! I know that is better! But the above is my question!

Vodka with water or on the rocks - no mixers except a diet drink.
Drinking beer is like drinking bread, lots of carbs!
Wine is like eating sugar, lots of carbs!
Vodka is you best 'shot'!

Remember that with alcoholic beverages, calories come from carbs AND ethanol (and ethanol also blocks the absorption of fats when consumed together). Arguably some unfiltered fermented (not distilled) beverages may still have proteins too.

Vodka has higher ethanol

Beer (except perhaps some drier strong ales) has more carb content

Theoretically any dry wine that ISN'T from overripe grapes from a hot wine region (like 16% alc. Zins and Cabs from California) would be the happy medium

(CONTRARY to an above answer, DRY wines are nothing at all like "eating sugar" LOL ... that's why they are called DRY ... ahem, I recommend to everyone reading up on the process we call fermentation .................)

It will really be hard to say until the FDA puts nutrition labels on alcoholic beverages though (which could actually become reality fairly soon)

Vodka. Wine and beer have calories from carbohydrates as well as those from alcohol. So, if you consume the same amount of alcohol, you are getting slightly fewer calories from the vodka. Of course, that is assuming straight vodka, no fruit juice or mixers with sugar in them.

I prefer mixed drinks like gin and bourbon with tonic for the gin and tap water for the bourbon. However I do like micro brews too. Chimay Blue Label or Boulevard Unfiltered Wheat work there. Guinness is wonderful too. As for wine, I prefer red, such as a good Bordeaux.

vodka or white wine but not the beer unless its a lite variety. best with diet mixers if any or it all becomes a bit pointless!
