Products that promote exfoliation can help diminish the appearance of shallow scars and promote cell turnover.

One home remedy: Crush 4 - 6 plain, uncoated aspirin tablets and mix it w/ a little water to make mask. Or mix them with Queen Helene Mint Julep mask or aloe vera gel instead of water. Apply a thin layer to your clean face & let dry for 15-20 minutes. Rinse off w/ cool water.

Neutrogena makes a peel designed to help fade acne marks. Link to product information: http://neutrogena.com/ProductsDetails_306.asp?lProductLineID=1

There is nothing that you can do that will totally get rid of the scarring, but there are a few things that you can do to help the appearance.

1) You said that you are light skinned, so it may be better if you got yourself a tan. Imagine a pink mark on a white background, and then imagine one on a brown background. Which do you think will be more noticeable?
-There are a lot of moisturisers that you can use that gradually build up a tan, just be sure that you have exfoliated before you begin so that you are starting with a clean slate.

2) Have you ever considered laser surgery? If your scarring is bad you are likely to be able to get it on the NHS, otherwise pay for it.
Another procedure that may help is a chemical peel.

I advise that you talk to a dermatologist first any procedure is taken.

Otherwise, look on the market for lotions that claim to reduce the appearance of scars and try them out. Bio-oil for example.

You can get "scar relief lotion or gel" at your local drug store without a perscription. It is completly clear & make up can even be worn over it. They have this stuff called "Maderma" there, but you can get the store brand - - it's cheaper & has all the same amount of ingredieants as the more exspensive brand.
