What brought this on? Chickens are only part of the issue, they take lambs too. In cities they eat cats, there are many many foxes in cities. How many tens of thousands of pounds do you think a farmer would be willing to spend on installing and maintaining fine mesh (under 4") fence round everywhere they have lambs or poultry?
Most foxes eat rabbits, not hens. So most foxes aren't an issue. So when my friends have a problem with a fox they stake out the area and use a 223 with a night sight to kill it.
I see this is really another question about fox hunting. That wasn't about controlling numbers, and it didn't give foxes a worse end than slowly starving to death or any of their other options.
Inbred hounds? The ones I saw looked far from inbred, more like very carefully bred working dogs. But while you are dishing out dirt I guess you were bound to throw in some bad words about the hounds. I wonder how many hounds have been slaughtered to protect the foxes that weren't and aren't in any way endangered? Well done those animal rights people! Reminds me of the PETA folks killing the animls that were dropped at their shelter and then dumping the bodies in other people's dumpsters. Two faced scum.
It's funny you anti-fox hunting people are just like the Republicans still going on and on about Bill Clinton. IT'S OVER! GET ON WITH YOUR LIFE!

My bet is that raising and inbreeding thousands of hounds to tear them to pieces is more fun then building fences.
But I have never raised thousands of Fox hounds, I find it’s easer to just shoot the d@mn things and be done with it.
To me raising thousands of Fox hounds is too expensive, when compared to the price of a bullet.

obviously you have never been to a farm ,if you have you would realize that fox tend to go UNDER the fence!,but I would just shoot the fox,why spend money on hounds whena bullet only cost 10 cents or so.

If the "system" actually "went down" then it would be people like us who would survive. You would die, natural selection would not work in your favor.
