I have never dated someone more than 8 years older than me. Even an 8 year difference seemed big at the time-- not because of the age, but because of the life experience. I probably wouldn't date a man 20 years my senior-- he would only be 5 years younger than my dad!

My husband is 4 1/2 years older than me. For me, it's been a maturity issue. Older men are more mature. I would not have dated a man who was 20 years my senior. That's too old.

Maturity, security, and life experience. Older men have something to bring to the table that many younger men don't, and vice versa. It depends on what you want out of a relationship. Many women are ready to settle down sooner then men. I would date someone 20 years my senior if I would be reassured he could take care of himself, let alone me. Why not?

We want a mature man (which in most cases are older men). Most of the younger guys only care about sex and aren't really looking for a relationship. And most women want a man that is mature enough for them and can give them stability in a relationship. Also, most women also look for a long term relationship, not necessarily marriage, but most want at least a year. At least I do.

Maturity. And it's not just younger women, I am 42 and my man is 55. At my age I don't know about 20 years older, it would depend on the man. Certainly not one who ACTS like he's 62. My man doesn't act like an old man.

I'm 49 and my partner is 76. That makes him 27 years my senior - He's charming, witty, considerate, thinks about me all the time, loves to cuddle, would rather spend time with ME than "the guys," talented, tells great dirty jokes, generous, strong - both physically and spiritually, appreciates my cooking, doesn't complain that I'm a slob, worries when I have to be on the road, is sexy beyond compare, virile (his greatest concern when we were first intimate was whether he'd get me pregnant)...

I could go on and on but you get the picture. Name some 18 year old who can be all that and more.

Besides, I'd wear some young buck out.

As my late great Uncle Kenny used to put it, "Follow the money." Check around clubs and posh dining-out places... see the old kahunas with the 18-year old arm-candy... a girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do, and Sam Moneybags can buy a lot more good stuff for a girl than Sid Fastfood can.

Another consideration....old guys are SO grateful!

the max limit i'd go to is 7-8 yrs apart.. thuss the diff btw my guy and me. 7 yrs. i like it coz of the maturity factor, and the stability, no ego hassles, and plus, he jus lets me b.
if a woman wants to date a guy older to her, then attribute it to maturity ( u must already knw tht the maturity level btw a guy and girl of same age is nil. ). wot complicates mattters is tht if u r closer to each others age, then theres also competition, in work sphere, coz he'll b thinking shes doing better than me, which isnt the case with a guy whos older to u by atleast 6 yrs, coz he'll hav been ther and done tht. so its easier.
compatibility is an issue tht needs looking into tho. but honestly, 20 yrs is too much of a gap. it'd b like dating my dad's pal or something.. !!!!

Old is Gold. The older man can give more satisfaction than a young man who goes off in early stages.

Are you saying they have a daddy complex and they are using older men to get back at their dad for some deep seated emotional need.

Or maybe they want a man that is stable financially, emotionally and mature.
