Racism prolly started out of the fear of people different in appearance from ourself and it has gone on so long it is almost hard-coded into people's DNA at this point. The environment they grow up in also perpetuates the racism, along with the fact that everyone keeps "playing the race card" when it clearly is not an issue about race.

You are right, we're all the same!!!!!!
But I wouldn't go straight saying that everybody is being racist, im NOT RACIST, & I hate when some african-american people not all but some, come out & say "it's be/c im black" that's lamest excuse ever that is that the reason for every problem they encounter...I don't care if you're white, black, mexican, or chinese...Im going to treat the same way you treat me...if you're a b**ch to me, then i will be a b**ch back...if you're nice to me, then i will be nice back.

Not only do people get ideas from the environment that they are in, (parents, friends, etc.) but I am a firm believer in that people are naturally uncomfortable with things that are different. Not only does a person learn racism, but people also need to learn empathy.

You're right. I think people are unconsciously influenced by others in their life (be it parents, friends, movies, etc.) to have racist opinions or thoughts. When you think about it, though, it really doesn't make any sense. We are all the same, just born into different families and different places and different bodies.

Same physically doesn't mean same culturally and it's the cultural issues that tend to come into play. Then stereotypes are made and people don't look beyond them.

Race is the catalyst but the problem is more of an "us/them" mentality. If we were all the same color, it would be different issues. People need something hinge on as a problem.

I agree, me too.
But, the world isnt perfect... there always were positive and negatives.
Many people are just brought up to be total racist's.
It tends to be the older people but racism is slowly disappearing.
