Ok so I am thinking about getting a hip surface peircing cuz I think they are really cute.... Now I dont kno if it would look tacky or slutyish but I dont have any tattoos and the only peircings I have are a tiny crystal stud in my nose and a tiny crystal stud on the side of my bottom lip its the same size as my nose ring so very tiny just like a little sparkle... Now I m not the type of crazy peircing tattooo freaky girl... I am pretty preppy or I dont know what you would call me... lol... I dont kno... im not emo or rockerish or preppy I just wear like clothes from forever 21 stuff like that like funky chic stylish styles i dunno... I just dont want to look like a freak... no offence to the people who have that style its just not for me... well I want to get this piercing but I dont want too look freaky or anything... its like gettin a little tattoo on your hip but instead its not permament so what di you think this is the piercing I want just only on one side..

If you want it, do it, if not, then don't. Simple as that.

And for April: I am college educated and I married a man with a Bachelors degree in Computer Science. I have tattoos and I live the good life and I am an educated, intelligent, high class woman. You would be surprised at how many Fortune 500 company CEO's have tattoos that you can't see... Just because you don't see them, doesn't mean they aren't there. I know several doctors who are tattooed as well. Maybe you should stop making an @$$ of yourself... oops too late!

I personally don't like it, but go for it if you want. I don't think that will make you look slutty...but it looks painful.

APRIL: Are you kidding? There are alot of professional, educated, intelligent women with tattoos- not just those who are trailer trash. I have tattoos, and my husband does not. We met, guess where? IN COLLEGE- we both graduated, and he married the tattooed me. I am an elementary school teacher, and I can guarantee you that NONE of my students or their parents know about my tattoos. You may be surprised at the number of people with covered tattoos. I think it is sad that we have to keep them covered to spare ourselves ridicule and judgment from people like you! Your statement is ignorant and offensive. You should really think before you say things like that!!!!!

I'd say no. Getting a piercing on your stomach would surely leave a huge scare. Think about when you eventually have kids and your stomach stretches, well so does that scare!! If you like the look then buy some crystals and stick them there. That's my advice.

I think surface piercings look awesome...but most the time they are rejected. (Check this out: http://www.bmezine.com/pierce/11-surface/wantone.html)
So if you do get it done, go to someone who is experienced in this area. It is definitely not a piercing any average piercer can do!

Also, be prepared for some pain! You said you only have 2 small studs? Your surface piercing will probably be done with a 14g...as a larger bar is more difficult for the body to reject.

Why are you so concerned with what "label" you are? Is that how you think of yourself? As just a definition of someone else's idea of cool? Try just being yourself.

As to your question, surface piercings are pretty tough to heal. They tend to reject and get infected pretty easily. I would look into getting microdermals instead. Microdermals are single-hole piercings that heal very successfully. You could get 2 of them placed as though it were a surface piercing.

Call your local piercer, and ask them about it.

i think thats actually really cute..at first i didnt think it would be but then i saw the pic and its something id consider getting...i think it would suit u and since it can be removed (and rejects on its on usually anyways) i think thats a good alernative to tattoos...i have nothing against them i have 3 myself!! but if ur not a fan then this is a good option for u..i think it will look really good on u i dont think ull look like a freak..ur wiked pretty im jealous!! good luck

I think you are a beautiful girl. I don't think you need that to make you look better and I don't think its going to make you look bad. I say do what you want to do. Everyone has their own opinion on things. If its what you want then do it! Its your body and you have to live with it....

I think it will look best to do both; keeps you visually balanced.

If you want it, like it... go for it. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and some people need to get glasses!

i like teh belly button one! The stomach ones look painful! And no... idt it will look to Punkish! But if i were you i'd save the pain and look into to doing something else!

I think they look painful and trashy. You're a pretty girl. Don't ruin yourself with any more piercings. Natural beauty doesn't need any alterations. Keep yourself the way you are...gorgeous!
