The original Dr. Who - William Hartnell - traveled with a companion - Susan - who called him Grandfather. It isn't known for sure whether this was a biological grandfather, an adopted grandfather, or just a name to use while in disguise. But if it was a biological grandfather, then the answer to your question is yes. In order to be a grandfather, he must have had a kid.
Unless by "kid" you meant baby goat. Then - no. :)
