Depends of your face, darling... People call eachother ugly because they don't ind eachother attractive. We don't know if you are "ugly", but beauty is in the eye of the beholder... And perhaps your approach was too full-on? Or too fast? If a stranger smiles at you as they walk past it doesn't give you time to react, does it? I am a girl and you have to look at it from her point of view. She is walking and this random guy smiles at her as he walks past and she's like, why is this random stranger smiling at me? I don't know him.. Should I smile back? And by the time that's done, you've already walked away. Perhaps if she was just standing around and you were just standing around and you just glanced over and smiled, then perhaps it would have given her enough time to react and she would have smiled back. Honestly, as a girl, when a random guy smiles at you, the first thing you think is wtf? You probably aren't ugly, she just didn't have enough time to react. So don't worry..

I have called my boyfriends babe. Most of my friends who are girls also call their boyfriends babe. I didnt realize it was stupid, or I'm sorry, stupoid.

I always call my mine:
"Babeh"
Pretty much like baby...but not as sharp-sounding.
"Handsome" works too...I know it probably sounds old fashion but...I, personally, would rather have someone say "Good night, beautiful" than "Good night, sexy or w/e." I just kind of think that they like that too, even if they would never admit it.
I little pet name works too. Not overly cutesy or childish tho...Something sweet but not embarassing to him.
His name is a great place to begin as well, but I am sure you know that. :)

Who ever said calling your boyfriend "babe" is stupid? It's totally not, and it's normal. Personally, I don't like calling my boyfriend "babe" or anything like that. It's just not me. Just call him my his NAME. Or, there's sweetie, honey.... whatever. But babe is common.
