I doubt it very much. All the hovercrafts I have seen designed have two motors. One for thrust and one for lift.

Yes, if it's a very powerful one. You won't be able to if you're going to run a 10 hp lawn tractor motor. You'd need something more like a small VW or Subaru engine, or Rotax engine, to have enough power to split, plus lift the weight and move it. Then designing the power split / air channeling will be more work. So it can be done, but it won't be a piece of cake, nor extremely cheap.

Yes, I saw it done on the TV series "Junkyard Wars". They had two teams build a hovercraft from junk and one of them only had one fan and motor that both lifted and propelled the craft.

Yes, lots did. You just need to split the power between the lift and drive. No fundamental difficulty.
