Almost always, every now and then I miss doing other things, but overall, I cannot imagine being anything but an sahm.....my kids are well behaved, not overindulged, and I know exactly what they hear on t.v. and what they eat. Those who truly can't afford to stay home, I understand, but so many people think they have to work to make it, when they want brand new vehicles, satellite dishes, brand name clothes, the list goes on and on.....you can do it it you're frugal and don't already have a lot of outstanding debt!

I am 21 years old and a mother of two beautiful children and for me there is no better thing than being a stay at home mom. Although I am young mother I am proud to say that my kids are growing with good manners, and are educated well, something a babysitter or anyone else could not do. I know that although I'm dying to work, my kids are more important. For all you stay at home mothers or fathers let me tell you that you have the most important job in the world. Enjoy it as much as you can and you will be rewarded as your children get older, you will see the time you spent with them was worth it all the way.

absolutely! Even though right this minute my 2 kids are driving me right up the wall lol School will start soon then we will be back to routine and that definatly helps reduce some of the stresses that come with being a SAHM. Mostly though(98% of the time) being a SAHM is alot of fun. Get to see the kids doing all the great things kids do, and I get to be there for my kids whenever they need me. Yeah we have to sacrifice A LOT for me to stay home, but that's only stuff ya know...

i am happy that I get to stay home with my youngest as no one can give him the love I can or as well either. I do miss working though. I miss the interation with other adults. I miss being able to socialize without asking one if the they want a cookie wookie. I have joined a moms group for the both of us which does help. I am happy for my son that I stay at home.

High five for you today! You are doing great. It is sooooo worth it. You have to budget like crazy, but if kids are loved, they don't need all the extra stuff. You are giving them things that money can't buy.
I support you in your decision. I am doing the same. I struggle sometimes, but know that the kids with "everything" will grow up spoiled and unable to cope in our society. You keep doing what you are doing. You are the "good" part of America. You are the American dream. Your kids are your reward and your wonderful marriage!

stay at home moms & dads are very lucky, i love it. we get to see all the "firsts" and be there to kiss the boo boos and saynight night at nap time and cook all their food during the day. i would hate to ask someone everyday what my kids ate, how they were, did they do anything funny today....etc... my kids are 4,3,1 and 1 week so im real busy but i have schedules that are great and i wouldnt change it for the world ! a few 15 minutes breaks would be nice and adult conversation but i love my little noodles and i love my life

I love it too. I do wish sometimes that could go back to work, but then I think about my kids. My oldest just started pre-k last week, and then my youngest starts next year. And I am now 23 weeks pregnant with #3, so I still have 5 more years before going back to work!

We had nothing when I was a kid. For a while we ate oatmeal three times a day. But things got better.
But, mom stayed home through it all, to raise us. And she did a damn fine job. I would not be the person I am today if she had worked. Iam so glad she made that sacrifice for us.
I am a SAHM, i bring in a little money on the side doing odd things, and thats enough for us. Raising my son is more important to me than anything.
People who get bored being home all day obviously arent doing it right. lol. Theres more to raising kids than sitting around with them. Look at the proverbs 31 woman, she did all sorts of things, with her kids in tow. Its hard work damnit.

My baby is due Feb 14 2008, but I have already started working from home and I know I will love it! My mom was a domestic goddess( prefer to stay at home mom) and we loved her bieng home with us. I am an accountant so obviously it is easy for me to be at home with my job, but I think what you and other women are doing by giving up the "extras" is FANTASTIC!
Hooray for strong women and stay at home mommies!
