theres a chinese film that i really want to watch, its set in rural china in lush green field (i think rice fields? and theres a young boy and young girl in it who are on the fields together, sorry i know this is a bad discription but thats all i really remember, can you please tell me what the film is called?

Would it be - The Road Home? It was also directed by Zhang Yi Mou, but the actress is young Zhang Zi Yi, her second movie!

Red Sorghum was < red >, no green field but red field! The director Zhang Yi Mou filmed a lot of shots in red! (see below), I was shocked when I first saw this movie, it was rare in the mid 80s to film a movie like that. It was a very low-budget-production (country owned movie production company in Xian) however it turned out to be a high-quality moive.

About half of all the films released in China has a young boy and a young girl who are in a lush green field together. Do you have a time frame as to when the movie was released? This year? Last year? the 90's? 80's? Was it a comedy? A drama? Is the director famous? Anything to narrow it down....

Yes, I was about to name "Red Sorghum" as well, as this was one of the more better known Chinese cinematography classics that sets in rural china with a guy and a girl about rice wine brewing, but i'm not sure if it's on lush green fields.
There's literally more than a hundred of similar films out there that match your description. please give a little bit more information.

They are right. There are many like this. I liked the Seven Samarai which is set in rural Japan and is in black and white.
