actually its Oxycodone.
its a pain killer

It just helps take the edge off of pain, not kill it totally (thats morphine)

its different from codeine (the original basis for these drugs) because it has and extra oxygen atom.

its based off the chemical structure of opium's thebaine
heroin codeine and morphine are made from opium too.
hydrocodone and oxycodone are both sythenic, man made forms.

the pill you take will probably be made up of (approximately)
Oxycodone 7.5 mg
Tylonal (acetaminophen) 300mg

if you've taken vicodin (Hydrocodone/acetaminophen) you'll notice Oxy is much the same thing. It seems a little cleaner (won't make you sick as quickly) and is a tiny bit stronger, but that won't be noticed unless you've taken these drugs regulaly

you mean "oxycodone."
It is an opiate, a substance derived from opium from poppy, used as a narcotic analgesics, or pain reliever, especially in cancer patients.Other examples of opiates would be heroin, morphine, codeine, etc.
It is usually made directly out of of codeine, simply by oxidation of a hydroxyl group into a keto-group.

Well, hope that answers your question
