They stand for diffderent orders, such as: S.J. = Society of Jesus (Jesuits). Other orders include the Carmelites, Franciscans, Dominicans, etc., and they all heve there own initials. There are many different orders and I don't know them all. You might try going to New Advent: http://www.newadvent.com/
they have a great encyclopedia of all things Catholic.

EDIT: Whover gave me a thumbs down needs to stick to things they know about, because they obviously know nothing about this subject.

The letters refer to the specific religious order to which the nun belongs. The orders grew out of the monastic movements of the early middle ages. Someone would establish a monastery and rules for conduct, and all the members would be part of that order and follow those rules. The orders expanded beyond the monasteries and now each order has specific tasks that it emphasizes. Some are teachers, some missionaries, some are cloistered and do nothing but pray all day, etc.

O.P (Order of Postulates) are Dominicans. O.S.U. are Ursulines, R.S.M. is Sisters of Mercy, C.R.M. (Clerics Regular Minor) are Adornos. The rest I'm not sure of.

They are abbreviations for the particular orders they belong to. For example R.S.M means "Religious Sisters of Mercy". R.D.C are the "Religious of Divine Compassion". Priests and Brothers who belong to orders likewise have the initials after their names.
