On disability, unable to work to pay debtors. Being sued, can they collect your disability monies or your personal properties, furniture, car, etc.

They cannot sieze/lien/garnish anything until they sue AND win

They cannot garnish SS disability payments in any state.

As far as personal property, if the debt is unsecured - credit cards, some loans, medical, etc. then they cannot seize your property. Though they may be able to place liens on the property.

If the debt is a secured debt - some loans, or if the debt is a federal/state debt - taxes, etc., they "may" be able to sieze (or lien) property - what/if they can sieze depends on your states homestead exemption statutes.

edited to add -
If your bank account holds funds from "any" other source other than the SS payments, they may be able to grab or freeze that bank account.
If that is the case, you might close that account and open one that is strictly used for you SS payments. When you open it, be sure to speak with a bank manager (not a teller) and make them notate the account that it is a strictly SS disability payment account and is a non garnishable / non freezing account.

Depends on the state. In Texas the answer is no.
